Q: What are the terms & conditions for Legend of Barbers?

Q: When is the Contest Period?
A: Stage 1: 22 May to 13 Jul 2022, Stage 2: 15 Aug to 14 Sep 2022, Finals: Oct 2022.
Q: Is there an entry fee?
A: There is NO entry fee required and participation is free. Interested participants are highly encouraged to be a part of the biggest and largest scale Contest in the Southeast Asia region.
Q: How many contest entries can I have?
A: The Contest is limited to 1 Entry per person.
Q: What are the 3 stages for the Contest?
A: Stage 1 is a qualifying round judged based on Entrant’s submitted Photos/Video in their home country, which is 80% of the final score. Top finalists will be sifted out to participate in Stage 2, whereby Entrants can have their family and friends vote on their works which takes up the remaining 20% of the final score to enter the Final stage. One vote per email address. An accumulation of both Stage 1 and Stage 2 will put 1 finalist at the top per country. WAHL SEA will fly the top finalist from each country to Singapore to participate in Finals of Legend of Barbers.
Q: Where is Legend of Barbers going to be held?
A: Legend of Barbers Stage 1 and Stage 2 will be held virtually in the respective countries’ (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and The Philippines) landing pages.
Q: Where is Legend of Barbers Finals going to be held?
A: WAHL SEA has prepared the Legend of Barbers Finals to be held in Singapore and WAHL SEA has the rights to change the location without prior notice.
Q: What to take note of if I am the winner of my country? Do I have to pay for flights and lodging?
A: Please make sure that the Entrant is fully vaccinated, with a valid passport and fit for travelling. WAHL SEA will be glad to cover the Entrant’s visa, pre-departure tests, return flight tickets, lodgings and meal allowances will be provided to make the stay in Singapore or Sterling a comfortable one. In the case whereby the finalist of the country is not fit or keen to travel, the opportunity will be automatically passed on to the runner-up.
Q: How many Contest winners will there be?
A: There will be 3 winners. The top Entries for each country will advance to Stage 2 where Entrants can get their friends and families to vote for their Entry. One vote per email address.
Q: What are the Contest prizes?
A: Grand Prize: 1 year membership to the Wahl Education, a set of premium Five-Star line of WAHL® products (Legend Cordless, Magic clip, detailer li, Finale, Dryer) and a 6D5N return flight ticket to Sterling, Illinois or Cash Prize US $5,000 or equivalent. Second Prize: A set of premium Five-Star line of WAHL® products (Magic clip, detailer li, Finale, Dryer) and Cash Prize US $3,000 or equivalent. Third Prize: A set of premium Five-Star line of WAHL® products (Magic clip, detailer li, Finale) and Cash Prize US $1,000 or equivalent.
Q: Can I know more about the trip to Sterling, Illinois?
A: As the winner of our Legend of Barbers, part of your prize is a 6D5N trip to Sterling, Illinois. Visa, pre-departure tests, flights and accommodations will be covered by WAHL SEA. There will be a meal allowance of US $200/day, up to US $1,200 provided. The winner will be granted the chance to tour the WAHL® factory and have the opportunity to meet other WAHL® Educators based in the USA.
Q: Can I use any brand of tools to join the Contest?
A: Entrants are only allowed to use WAHL® tools and products for Photos/Video as well as during the Finals.
Q: What should be the video flow?
A: For video, the Entrants are encouraged to have a brief introduction about themselves and the haircut they are about to perform. No music on the video but narrations/voiceovers of the Entrants’ own voice are allowed. Only WAHL® clippers, trimmers and shavers to be used. 30% of the haircut may use cutting shears. Entrants should have their Photos/Video in 16:9 aspect ratio.
Q: Can I use cutting shears or razors?
A: Cutting shears are allowed 30% of their work. Entrants may only use WAHL® clippers, trimmers and shavers and are responsible for procuring these tools. Brushes, capes and styling products that are not part of WAHL® range of products may be used but at no time to be shown or mentioned in any Photos/Video submission as well as during the Finals. WAHL SEA reserves the right to disqualify any Entrants who fail to comply to the terms and conditions of the Contest without any prior notice.
Q: Can I use design or color?
A: Entrants are encouraged to be as creative as possible, hair tattoos and color are definitely allowed, and WAHL SEA will not be limiting the Entrant’s creativity during the execution of the creative cut.
Q: Can I use any form of enhancement or styling products?
A: Entrants may use styling products but do not mention, display, film or include the brand name, identity, packaging, logo or any other identifiable marks of the product. No digital enhancements such as photoshop or physical enhancements such as hair fibers to be used.
Q: I need to update my Entry, what do I do?
A: Entrants may drop an email to info@wahlsea.com if they have any changes to be made to their Entries.
Q: How do I know that my Entry is submitted successfully?
A: Entrants will receive a confirmation email from noreply@legendofbarbers.com, if you did not receive it, please check your junk or spam folder.
Q: How will I be informed if I were to advance to the next stage of the Contest?
A: WAHL SEA will be sending out updates through email, so please look out for emails from info@wahlsea.com.
Q: I have some other questions which are not addressed on this FAQ page, what should I do?
A: Please direct your queries to info@wahlsea.com, so WAHL SEA will be able to address them accordingly.
Q: I am from Vietnam, but I am currently working in Thailand. So which country will I be representing?
A: Which country you will be representing is highly dependent on your nationality. In the example above, you will be representing your home country, Vietnam instead of your current working location, Thailand.
Q: What are the countries whereby Legend of Barbers will be held in?
A: There are 6 countries on the list. They are Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and The Philippines.
