Legend of Barbers (the “Contest”) is open to legal residents of Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Contest begins on Monday 15 May 2023, 12:00:00 AM SGT and ends Thursday 26 October 2023, 11:59:59 PM SGT (“Contest Period”). The Photos and/or Video and submission information will be referred to as the “Photos/Video” or the “Submission.” The individual who submits the Submission in the Contest will be defined as the “Participant.”
Legend of Barbers Terms & Conditions:
By joining the Contest, Participant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with these terms and conditions.
• The participant must be a citizen or permanent resident of the country he applied to, in order to represent the country to compete in the contest.
• Participant must be 18 years of age or older.
• Limit of 1 submission per person.
• Participant is not an employee, agent, franchisee, or partner of Wahl Southeast Asia ("the Company"). Participant cannot act on behalf of the Company. Participant does not have any authority to incur debt, obligation, or liability on behalf of the Company.
• Participant is not an employee, educator or ambassador of other hair grooming brands during the time of participation.
• Participant may use clippers, trimmers, and shavers as part of the Contest and are responsible for procuring these tools. Participants may use cutting shears for 30% of the haircut. At no time may a Participant display, film, photograph, mention or describe any product names, brand names, logos or other identifiable marks other than WAHL®. Submission found to be using ineligible items will be disqualified from the Contest. No Submission may contain offensive or vulgar content. A Submission containing inappropriate content, as determined in the sole discretion of WAHL SEA, will be ineligible.
• To partake in the Contest, Participant must be fully vaccinated, with a valid passport and fit for travelling.
• All Submission must be submitted online at www.legendofbarbers.com (the “Website”) in Photos and/or Video format. WAHL® SEA will own the rights to use Submission Photos/Video, both locally and globally. Participant grants WAHL SEA permission to use Participant’s name and likeness for the purpose of Contest administration, including use in a publicly available finalist or winner’s list. All Photos/Video must be original creation of the Participant and must not contain any business location, information, corporate branding, names, logos or trademarks other than WAHL® and associated product names.
• Wahl SEA will only use personal data collected during the Contest for the purpose of administering the Contest. Collection of information is pursuant to WAHL SEA’s privacy policy.
• Country winners will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Waiver of Liability, Publicity Release Forms, or a Prize Acceptance Eligibility/Liability Release and return them to the WAHL SEA within 7 days of the date WAHL SEA sends them. Country winners may also be required to provide signed model releases to WAHL SEA.
• Prizes are non-transferable, except at WAHL SEA’s sole discretion. Prizes, prize details and prize availability are subject to change, in which case WAHL SEA may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. No substitutions or cash redemptions, except at WAHL SEA’s sole discretion. Any portion of prize not used is forfeited and no cash substitute will be offered or permitted.
• Prize offered is provided “as is” with no warranty or guarantee either expressed or implied by WAHL SEA. Awarding of all prizes is subject to verification of Submission, submission of all required Release Forms, eligibility, and compliance with these Official Rules. WAHL SEA will attempt to contact country winners by email, at the Sponsor’s discretion, on or about approximately 14 days after the Judging is complete. Potential country winner must respond within 7 business days of initial notification attempt.
• All issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these terms and conditions, or the rights and obligations of Participant and WAHL SEA in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the local laws of Singapore, without regard to any other conflicts of law principles. Participant consents to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state, and local courts of Singapore.
Submission Requirements:
• Personal particulars through the Website
• 1 half body image of Participant in landscape 16:9 format, that is less than 3MB
• 3 before and 3 after images of the same hair model in landscape 16:9 format, that is less than 3MB per image
• All Submissions must be submitted online at www.legendofbarbers.com (the “Website”) in Photos and/or Video format.
Participants may also submit an optional video link; that allows public access and a duration no more than 30 minutes, documenting the haircutting process in time-lapse, landscape 16:9 aspect ratio and in mp4 format.
This amounts to a total of 7 images and 1 optional video which may impact the final judging scores.
Contest Stages:
The Contest will be conducted in 3 stages. Stage 1 is a qualifying round judged based on Participant's submitted Photos/Video in their home country. Country finalists will be shortlisted out to participate in Stage 2, whereby Participant can have their family and friends vote on their works which takes up 20% of their final score to enter the Stage 3. 1 vote per email address. An accumulation of both Stage 1 and Stage 2 whereby 1 finalist will emerge as the country winner. WAHL SEA will fly the country winner from each country to participate in Stage 3 of the Contest (country to be confirmed). If the country winner is unable to travel due to personal reasons, the opportunity will be given to the 1st runner-up of Stage 2. Participant should showcase their personal style and creativity through their creative cut. Design work and hair coloring may be used. Do not use hair enhancement fibers or enhance the images digitally.
Stage 1 Judging Criteria:
Duration: Mon 15 May - Fri 30 Jun 2023
Submissions will be judged and awarded points based on the following criteria:
• 20% by complete Photos/Video submission
• 60% by Wahl Judging Panel which consist of WAHL SEA representatives and members of the Wahl Education
- 20% presentation / styling
- 20% creativity
- 20% skills / technicality
Stage 2 Judging Criteria:
Duration: Tue 1 Aug – Thu 31 Aug 2023
Stage 1 and Stage 2 brings a total of 100% to define the top country winner for each country. 1 email address can cast 1 vote only.

Stage 3 Judging Criteria:
Showdown date: Thu 26 Oct 2023
Finalists will have 30 minutes to complete the haircut and be judged based on the following criteria:
• 25% presentation / styling
• 25% creativity
• 25% skills / technicality
• 25% professionalism / application

• A set of Wahl 5-Star Barber Premiums worth more than US$1,000 (Gold Magic Clip Cordless, Gold Detailer Li Cordless, Legend Cordless, Barber Dryer and Finale Shaver)
• A 6D5N trip to Wahl Clipper Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois, or US$5,000 cash prize or equivalent
*Visa, pre-departure tests, return flight, accommodations, and allowance of US $200 per day amounting to a total of US $1,200

WAHL SEA reserves the rights to update, change any terms and conditions deemed necessary at any time and Participants who failed to adhere to the terms and conditions listed for the Contest may be disqualified without any prior notice. If any changes are made, the revised terms and conditions shall be posted on this website immediately. Please check the latest information posted herein to inform yourself of any changes.
